We see our newsletters as a vital way of communicating with our members and an excellent way of telling the world what we are about. We started producing very basic newsletters in Summer 2003, one month after the formation of the Trust.

It was a basic offering but it was a start. We soon realised the need for a good looking, professional newsletter and we now send out 16 page editions in full colour.

To give you an idea of how far we have come, below are five examples. As you can see, the quality of our newsletter has risen quite sharply!

Summer 2003 - our first Newsletter is sent out to 70 odd members, containing news of our appointment of a board representative and share purchases.

Winter 2003 - another first effort, this time printed in black and white. This issue contained variious news snippets including the winner of our balloon race, another share purchase and our first ever AGM.

Autumn 2005 - we issued our first A5 booklet style Newsletter. We also re-designed our Trust badge to include both the England and Scotland flags as well as the Northumbria flag. It contained news of our £4,500 donation to the newly formed BRFC Youth Initiative.

Summer 2006 - we first started to produce full colour issues in 2005 and 2006, which were greatly received by our membership. We even got a mention at the Supporters Direct conference for the quality of our Newsletters - with James Proctor telling delegates that Trusts of all sizes could learn from the professionalism of our organisation.

Summer 2007 - we released our Championship edition just 2 weeks after winning the league. The Summer 2007 issue is now the standard design for all future efforts - full colour with 12/16 pages. We have also decided that twice yearly is the best way to produce them. You can expect to receive your Newsletter every December and June.
